PRIORITIES FOR

THOROLD

My priorities have been shaped by years of community involvement, serving on municipal committees, coaching local sports and working on major municipal infrastructure projects across Ontario. Just as importantly, they’ve been shaped by listening to residents and understanding the issues that matter most in Thorold.

These aren’t campaign promises - they’re the principles that will guide every decision I make on City Council.

RESPONSIBLE GROWTH

Growth should improve our community - not outpace it.

Thorold has grown quickly over the past several years, and it needs to be planned responsibly. Roads, infrastructure, parks and municipal services should keep pace with development, and Council needs to understand the long-term financial impact of today’s decisions. With more than 20 years of experience delivering major infrastructure projects across Ontario, I’ve seen the importance of planning ahead and looking at the bigger picture. Growth should benefit our entire community—not leave residents paying the price for poor planning.

  • Ensure infrastructure and municipal services keep pace with growth.

  • Support responsible, well-planned development.

  • Consider the long-term financial impact of every major decision.

PARKS & RECREATION

Great Parks and recreation are an important part of community life.

I’ve spent years coaching local sports, volunteering in the community and serving as Chair of the Parks, Trails & Recreation Advisory Committee. Through those experiences, I’ve seen firsthand how much our parks and recreation spaces mean to families and our community. They’re where kids play, friendships are built, and neighbours come together. I believe we need to continue investing in these spaces while also taking care of the facilities and community assets we already have so they can be enjoyed for years to come.

RESPONSIBLE SPENDING

Every dollar spent should provide value for residents.

Property taxes are one of the biggest expenses many families face, and residents deserve to know their money is being spent wisely. I’ve spent more than 20 years working on major municipal infrastructure projects across Ontario, where planning ahead and thinking long term are part of every decision. That’s the mindset I’d bring to Council—making informed decisions, managing City assets responsibly and making sure residents understand how and why their tax dollars are being spent.

  • Deliver value for taxpayers.

  • Plan for the long term, not just the next budget.

  • Be open and transparent about major spending decisions.

FAMILIES, YOUTH & SENIORS

A community that supprts all ages.

As a husband, father, coach and volunteer, I’ve seen how important it is to have a community where people of all ages feel connected and supported. I’ve also seen the incredible contributions seniors make through volunteering, mentoring and giving back to our community. I believe we should continue investing in safe neighbourhoods, recreation opportunities and community programs that bring people together and make Thorold a great place to live for families, youth and seniors.

These are the values I’ll bring to every decision I make and every conversation I have as your City Councillor.

Listen First

Every decision starts with listening to residents, understanding different perspectives and taking the time to get it right.

Be Accessible

I’ll be approachable, available and committed to responding to residents throughout my term—not just during the campaign.

Spend Responsibly

Every tax dollar matters. I’ll make informed decisions that focus on long-term value and responsible stewardship of public funds.

Communicate Openly

I’ll explain my decisions, share information openly and keep residents informed about the issues that affect our community.

Be Accountable

Whether people agree with my decisions or not, they’ll always know where I stand, why I made them and that I’m accountable for every vote.

OPEN & TRANSPARENT GOVERNMENT

Residents deserve to understand how decisions are made.

Through my time serving on municipal committees, I’ve learned that people don’t always expect everyone to agree but they do expect honesty and accountability. I believe residents deserve to know why decisions are made, how their tax dollars are being spent and how public input was considered. Whether people agree with my decisions or not, they’ll always know where I stand and why I made them.
